Cardiac Intensivist

Dr. Santana-Acosta joined Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, part of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, in 2016. She is a pediatric cardiac intensivist in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Santana-Acosta earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine’s Pediatric Hospital, followed by fellowships in pediatric critical care medicine at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and pediatric cardiac critical care medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Santana-Acosta is a member of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Her clinical interests include risk factors influencing clinical outcomes in neonatal congenital heart disease surgery.

Dr. Santana-Acosta treats patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
