
‘Building on a Dream’ Update

The Hospital's Master Facility Plan was unanimously approved by the Board of County Commissioners on July 26, 2007 enabling the hospital to move ahead with the design of planned new structures that will make it possible for patients in critical care units to receive care in private rooms.
Miami Children's Hospital is incorporateing green strategies. We will be installing a system to recycle run-off water for irrigation and will be utilizing environmentally friendly materials in planning construction.
Miami Children's Hospital looks forward to continuing a positive and collaborative relationship with Schenley Park residents for the benefit of the children of Florida and our neighbors in the lovely community that we share.
The hospital has agreed to and acted upon several requests to benefit the surrounding area...here is a partial list:

Increase the landscaping in and around the hospital

Calm traffic through roundabouts/circles

Incorporate noise reduction strategies into new and exisiting parking garages

Increase lighting on and off campus

Campus loop road to contain campus traffic

Significant Ambulatory Care Strategy to provide services throughout the community reducing the required travel to the main campus

Continue to remove non-clinical services from main campus as possible

Continue to provide numerous education and outreach services
