MCH is committed to its role as a teaching hospital providing medical school rotations throughout most of the departments. Only students from LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) - the nationally recognized accrediting authority for medical education programs leading to the M.D. degree in U.S. and Canadian medical schools - accredited schools are eligible for electives at Miami Children's Hospital. Medical students will be allowed to schedule their rotations 6 months in advance and up to 4 weeks prior to the beginning of a rotation. Approval is based on good academic standing and availability.
What are the areas of rotation that I may apply for?
Participation as a medical student is contingent on our faculty's availablity. Below please find a list of possible rotation subspecialties.

How to apply
All requests must be made directly to the Department of Medical Education. Any requests made outside of this department will not be considered.
The Medical Education Office will need the following from you prior to starting your rotation:
Application Form
(to be completed for each noncontiguous rotation at Miami Children's Hospital)
A signed contract between MCH and the parent program
All other items as listed on the application

After acceptance to your rotation, please print out, review and sign the Medical Student Orientation. Bring the Medical Student Orientation, your school's evaluation form, and your lab coat with you to Miami Children's Hospital for your first day. We do not provide lab coats.
